With a background as a university lecturer and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I offer personalised online tuition that focuses on exam technique, essay writing, and building real confidence.
My aim is to make learning engaging and help every student achieve the grades they deserve.
I’ve always been passionate about learning and the power of a great education. From a young age, I found real joy in exploring history, literature, and ideas — a love that carried me through my academic journey. I completed my undergraduate degree in Modern History at the University of Hull, graduating with a First-Class honours and an additional award for civic and social responsibility. I then moved to the University of Leeds, where I achieved a Distinction in my MA in Modern History.
This led to a fully funded PhD, supported by the university’s prestigious 110th Anniversary Scholarship. It was during my PhD that I discovered my true calling. While teaching undergraduates for the first time, I realised how much I loved helping students not only understand complex material, but actually enjoy the process of learning. That experience sparked a career that has included lecturing at the London School of Economics, conducting prize-winning research at the University of London, and now working as a learning designer in Higher Education. I’m also proud to hold a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
Today, I bring all of that experience into my tutoring. Whether I’m working with a GCSE student nervous about exams or an A-level student aiming for a top university, my goal is always the same: to make learning clear, engaging, and genuinely rewarding.

I’m a passionate educator, former university lecturer, and qualified learning designer with a genuine love of history, writing, and helping students unlock their full potential.
